Julie Williams' interest in Remedial Therapies began in 1992, studying natural medicine and various massage styles.Following that, a strong belief in natural medicine and body therapies led Julie to developing a life long philosophy rather than just an existence.
Over the years Julie has worked in some of the beautiful island resorts of the Great Barrier Reef, various clinics throughout Brisbane and began her first clinic in West Lake in 1996.
Julie is a registered remedial massage therapist and student doula. She is also a mother of two active and healthy children, born naturally and calmly at home with private midwifery care. The decision to birth at home came easily after having trust in the female body’s amazing abilities and choosing an experienced homebirth midwife/naturopath who could provide naturopathic, antenatal, birth and post natal care. Freedom to make choices and being given holistic and thorough information made all the difference to her children's wonderful births.
Following her children's births, Julie volunteered to help co-ordinate the Home Midwifery Association support group run by mothers and midwives. In 2003, a series of stories for the Courier Mail were published highlighting maternity choices in Queensland. The experience of her second childs homebirth, while under the private care of her midwife, was followed through pregnancy, birth and postnatal periods by the Courier Mail.
Her wonderful birthing experiences, knowledge and confidence that she gained has lead Julie to developing special interests in remedial massage, pregnancy, pre and postnatal care, and nutrition.
In 2008 after returning to study, Julie began her business Live Organic Health. The vision was to offer a variety of muscular skeletal treatments and holistic therapies to help more people live well and feel connected to their body. Julie also felt the need to offer one-on-one care, nurturing, education and to improve the confidence of new mothers and their babies in their own home, following birth.
Julie has completed a Diploma of Applied Science in Remedial Massage, Certificate IV in Shiatsu and is currently studying an Advanced Diploma of Applied Science in Nutrition. Julie has always had a passion for food and believes food is our medicine. She is also studying to be a post natal doula under Dr Chris Vose from Optimun Birth. This will be a valuable addition to her experiences and knowledge gained over the years as a mother, practitioner, and support person for birthing women.
